O.K., I am going to get EMO for a second………

The day was F—–ing epic.. The weather, the women, and the waves…

The donkey contest once again proving to be a great success. I had more fun than last year, and when I say I had more fun, I don’t mean because I got 3rd (lost to Geoff which is painfully for me, but he surfed great and clearly beat me, but still painful) but more because I enjoyed watching others have a great time.

If I were to frame my mind in still pictures from my memory this is what I see…

1. Josh, a newbe to donkey, taking the trophy after barely scrapping out of the death heat.
2. Smyth being shut out in his heat, and the resulting silence. (From Hero to Zero)
3. Killer Bill’s left barrel in the first heat.. (another donkey newbe)
4. Eddie’s effort (enough said)
5. Geoff and Stefan’s relentless bashing (I am still drying off from the buckets)
6. Coor’s Lights between heats (stefan, is this why we lost?)
7. After all the deliberation and vacillation, Oceanside going off
8. Other new cool people competing, Noah, Andrew, Marty (JK), Bill

All in all I believe the format is a success and is one of a kind. I am proud to be a part of it and to call you all my friends..
